Welcome The unincorporated community K. I. Sawyer in Forsyth Township, (Marquette County) Michigan is where I call home. K. I. Sawyer, which also has residents in West Branch Township, is about seven miles north of the unincorporated community of Gwinn, also in Forsyth Township. There are many urgent concerns for Michigan's 109th State Representative Seat here in the Upper Peninsula which are in my platform. I'm not a politician, but a Patriotic Conservative Individual who seeks your vote to be a public servant in Lansing to represent all 90,000 folks, like our founding fathers before us did. Please visit my About Section to see where I've lived and worked during the first 58 years of my life.
Friends know me as an ambitious, hard working woman who cares. I would like to use my dedication to getting a job done and help the hurting and discouraged people who have lost faith in all systems of government. These government entities were meant to help but are now broken and hinder society while strangling us as a state and nation. One local official said, "You have a Doctorate Degree in Life," learning about the "Nightmare" my family experienced after moving here. This official encouraged me to pursue the MI Legislative State Representative Seat as I continued to uncover the dysfunction in local and state government that devastated the life I knew. The Upper Peninsula is a hard place to live with long winters and heavy snowfall but I look forward to the challenges that await while pursuing the 109th State Representative Seat.
I have never smoked or tried marijuana or experimented with drugs but I do understand addiction and the hold it has on many in our district, state & nationwide. I do not gamble, nor do I believe gambling makes for a stronger educational system or economy. My lifelong work ethic and faith in God, with a committed desire to see wrongs made right, will help me to serve while in Lansing and here at home. I will fight the good fight and take the passion I have to better the lives of people here in the Upper Peninsula.
All life is precious, from the womb to the disabled; to the elderly taking their last breath with family by their side in a nursing home or all alone. During my law enforcement career, while married and not planning to be a mother, I made the decision to choose life because I knew life was growing in me. I believe one day we will look on abortion like we used to view other immoral events in our nation's past history and know it to be wrong.
As I share with you, I am reminded of those Veterans who sacrificed and died defending our country. My family has strong military service with relatives from the Spanish-American War, WWI, Korea & Vietnam Wars. Here in Michigan, and whatever state we may visit or live, let us not become calloused or removed from remembering those men and women who have paid with their lives while they protected us working as Soldiers. Take the time, any time and every time, to thank those surviving Veterans for their service and let our active Armed Forces know how grateful you are as they protect our country where freedom is not free.
